Your buyer needs to brush up on his communication skills.

Ask him if he means that he wants you to ship by postal service. The courier services charge a brokerage fee for bringing an item across the border, but the United States Postal Service doesn't (or at least for a much reduced charge).

As far as I know, CAD just stands for Canadian dollars. As in Canadian funds.

The postal service should do a pretty good job as would a courier srevice. dan't know much about them, but give 'em a call and ask.

Couriers into Canada are expensive, looking at anywhere from $35.00 and up for brokerage on top of delivery charges. United States Parcel Service(USPS) is the easiest and least expensive. I bring in everything from cigars to bike parts and have had no issues with USPS.

Haven't shipped anything north for a few years, but I mailed out a deer call to Ontario this morning. Least expensive option for it was an International Priority Mail flat rate box. About double what it cost a few years ago to ship a call, but still somewhat reasonable @ $12.95 and I was able to print the postage and customs form on one label and do it online.
Get the buyer's address, weigh/measure your package, and you can go online and calculate shipping cost on USPS web site - http://ircalc.usps.com/?country=10054

And insure it heavily!
I mailed one to Canada several years ago and it got lost for a couple months. USPS said they gave it to Canada Post and Canada Post said they never received it.
I finally filled out the required paperwork for an insurance claim (they have to run a "trace" on it first) and it showed up on the recipient's door step the next day.

Did he mean COD (cash on delivery)

If so I would advise against it have him send a MO or cheque

COD is pretty secure. The post office isn't going to let him have his package without payment. But I imagine the fees involved make it one of the more undesirable ways to ship.
