Clone question

Post by xbowkidd »

i came across this "beauty" of a clone and noticed the specs were very similar to the exomax, except the power stroke is 2" shorter but they are still claiming 345fps. any ideas on how this would be achieved? my guess is if it is only a 14.5" power stroke and still 225lb draw weight, it must have much heaver limbs on it. just trying to satisfy my curiosity...

By cloning they have already shown their level of "honesty", I would not expect their specifications to be any more honest than their business tactics.

Thats likely because The term "acceletron matrix molecules" was already taken.

I see they are including safety glasses with the purchase.

mmmmm?

My son ordered one this morning from "Midway"
It will be at my door step sometime next week.
He paid less than $200.
I will post results of how it works after it arrives.
May my aim be true and my arrow fly straight

Im not sure what midway is (new or used) but if it's new, shoots a claimed 345fps and all that for under 200 it should raise some red flags.

Only one I saw on the site did not claim 345 FPS. It said 245 FPS. Wierd looking bow but had all good ratings. Cost was under $150.

 We kid, but I can kind of understand someone thinking about buying one of these bows. Let's face it.. Times are tough and we all need to save a buck. The thing that bothers me about these Excal knock-offs is that each one is built off Bill T's hard work. They aren't "kind of Excal looking", they are 100% ripoffs.

That and I can just imagine the life and the working conditions of the poor Chinese guy (or kid) getting paid .05 for a days wage to make this blatant copy while some northamerican idiot gets the profit. If this bow can be had for $200 think about how much of that is materials, how much is profit, and how much is paid to the Chinese guy who has to feed his kids.

And If they short-cut on labour, you can bet they short-cut on materials (alloy limbs) and someone IS going to get hurt. Try suing a Chinese manufacturer and see how far you get. There is zero accountability.

I have great repect for Excalibur for keeping their factory in north America. (us or Canada. Don't matter) and not selling out.

It's not just bows that irk me. Try grocery shopping! but i'll save that rant for another day

I don't buy from china if I can avoid it.

The clones do serve a purpose though.
They are a gateway to Excalibur after they see what crap a clone really is!!

Hi, please let me know how you got on with this crossbow, quality, accuracy etc. [email protected]
I had a Excal Equinox but sold it, worst thing
I ever did. Now looking to replace it but cant afford Excal prices so looking to buy one of these clones.
I know Excal is the best but we have to cut our cloth to its width. I dont have the funds in this climate.
By the way off course most of you must know that all Apple gear is made in China

It's made in the same Chinese factories that a large number of "US" bow makers use for their X bow components.
It seems to be a copy of the Exomax to a certain extent and that's a shame but seems to be a given with China. All the BEST makers of various products are copied by them.
I've bow hunted for over 30yrs. I've had several injuries to my back and shoulder in Iraq that finally ended my V bow days. I love bow hunting but wasn't financially able to afford an X-cal so I bought the Wildfire II package because it was like the X-cal which is a great bow and a great company.
To be honest it's well made and the scope is outstanding as well. I changed the factory string to a FFF string 1989 and used Archoil AR2400 on the rail. It shoots 331fps with the package included carbon arrows w/100 grain tip.
I meant no disrespect to Excalibur's creator/company but I love to bow hunt and didn't want to miss deer season.
