Same buck.
This time of year the summer hair is falling out and the winter hair is growing in.
Body will change again as hormones kick in as the rut approaches.
Let's hope you get more pics of him.
Observation is half the fun.

They look different . . .look at the white under the ear . . .other markings are off a little too. Probably brothers.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

A deer's hair is darker at the tips and lighter at the base.
Light markings can change shape slightly as the ear moves around and the skin pulls the hair with it.

I to thought the second pic is heavier then first. If he took up a steroid program this is the same deer  :D

As to markings on first deer it looks to me as leafy shadow from weeds that if tcam had multiple led's the top lights bled out the shadow from bottom lights giving a lit shadow. my uneducated 2 cents

Only one way to settle this man, I guess your just gonna haveta kill him. If you still get pictures of a lookalike it's either his ghost or a twin. LOL!

Yeah, after my post I came to the same conclusion but waited to see if you guys would call me on it! you can see the up-turned leaf that cast that shadow. Cant put one past you two! hehehe!

However.. Lets take stock here. We have a deer that put on 15-20 pounds, got the hormones flowing, shed the fuzz on his antlers, leaving not a single strand hanging, somehow shed his summer coat and has other markings in one pic and not another. (ignore the black shadow mark. but that looong section on his neck is not a shadow. Cant remember the last time i saw a light colored shadow) and theres no trace of it in the 2nd pic. and all this in what? a week? not impossible. but weird.

I want to say its the same deer, but to do that i would have to ONLY look at his antlers. And the first picture you cant see half of them. Cut the antler of on his right side and it seems like a different deer.

I call twin. but they are both tasty! and a bonus!

I think that mark on his neck is just something on the flash or lens maybe reflection off his twin or something to do with his time travel ability.
suspense is a killer :D
guess ill have to check the camera again this weekend :!:

In 24 days you'll be able to hang one of your two bucks.
Which one is up to you!
Only then will you know if there is a twin  and only if you see the second deer ever again.

In either case, the best of luck putting him in cold storage! :D

He might be spared this year, I've seen his daddy's tracks again, but he's a wise one, plus I have an extra doe tag and need a tag for up north unless his daddy wanders by  .
My cousin said before they bought the land the old fellow that owned the land used to hunt it three yrs ago and when they showed up to work the old fellow wold leave
his stand, not ten min after he left every day old wise buck would wander to his stand and freshen his scrape like he was watching him
