Finally Got to Shoot the Exocet

Post by bayman1975 »

Well, I finally got to shoot my new Exocet. Still don't have my Shadowzone scope, but with plenty of light I managed with the Varizone.

A couple of comments:

For a person who shot traditional bows for the past 30 years, I found the crossbow awkward to handle and shoot. Also, when you've shot bows that were almost soundless for as long as I have, the pulling the trigger on the Exocet results in what sounds like an explosion. These things, I'll have to get used to.

After shooting for a few minutes, and setting the speed dial on the scope, this is my group at 20 yards without ever removing the adjuster caps on the scope. Just mounted it, and shot it.

Yea, something's going to die.

I hear ya, been shooting compounds for thirty years, had some back surgery now I've got a Exocet, love it! It's a shooting machine.

Keep shooting like that and it's gonna cost ya $$, arrows aren't cheap.

My comment was going to be,
The next lesson is -
DO NOT shoot more than one arrow at the same spot on the target.

Congrats on the new bow you will get used to the noise and it will be the last thing the buck ever hears when you pull the trigger.
I would recommend that you shoot only one bolt at each of those five spot targets or you will be buying a lot of bolts :D

Nice to group there. Should work like a charm out in the woods. Good luck. :)
