Doe down this afternoon

Post by Hester0305 »

I've killed a lot of deer with my vertical bow but I put my 1st deer down this afternoon with the Vortex and 100 gr. Rage 2 blade. I shot her at 28 yards angled toward me hit her between the neck and front shoulder and got a great exit behind the front shoulder on the opposite side. She left a great blood trail from start to finish. I'm off the rest of the week so going back in the morning.

It was an exciting with the crossbow as any with the vertical bow. I've got 5 more tags to fill and an empty freezer to fill. Going to try and kill a couple more does before switching over to the vertical bow I still love to shoot it also.

Thanks,
I know the feeling the long awaited anticipation of the hunt.
We saw a few deer this week so far and 2 bear, unfortunately we have to wait until next month on the bears. Going back this morning to try and get another one.

Congrats on the doe! :D Nice fresh meat in the freezer!

They're calling for rain Friday evening here, but clear on Saturday. :D Gonna go see if I can find one of bucks we've been getting pictures of. Hopefully I will run across one that is deaf, dumb, and blind.

Congrats!

Enjoy telling the story . . .start it out like this, "I remember by first crossbow kill like it happened yesterday" . . .

Another first, good job!
