deer down

Post by bob watkins »

got my first deer useing my gille suit this was going to be my goal this year to shoot one off the ground. first time out this year for deer. got set up about 5;00 i was sitting there enjoying the day. when i look over to my left there a deer in the next 5 min. there were three deer. i was sitting on a huntmore stool which swivels around had todo a180 to get in position .ever so slowly i made the turn got the deer in my scope .now its only 5;30 plenty of good light to shoot. took a minute to see if they would come any closer range it out to be around 40 yd i let the vortex do its job. clean pass thru useing a 100 gr spitfire xb30 scope gold tip 2 ready shot stick of course..this was a real kick with the gille suit.

congrats. Did the deer even notice the big lump (your suit)? I've been thinking about getting me one and trying it out. Are they hot to wear?

Congrats on the deer! :D It's fun to get them when you're on the ground. I've had them close enough to me that I could see the moisture on their whiskers. :D Spend enough time on the ground and you get to see all kinds of cool things like that.
