Bolts - Before and After - They work!

Post by sullyy »

My bolts were were in a sad state after last hunting season so something needed to be done.

Question: Do you guys think the vanes are too far from the end of the shaft? I think they are ok, but won't know for sure until I get to shoot them this week.

Can't wait to put one on the deck!

Good job on those arrows they look good, I don't think the fletchings are to far away

Did you cut the two with the lighted nocks a bit shorter
they look the same length as the others.

Great looking arrows, I've played with moving the vanes up and down the arrow and haven't seen any real difference.

You have to leave enough room between the nock and the fletchings for the arrow to fully seat against the serving. If there isn't enough room, then the fletching will hit the trigger claws . . .not good.

Great looking arrows . . .a testimony as to why everyone needs to be able to refletch their arrows . . .it's not complicated.

Thanks for the info guys. The two with lumenocks aren't cut, I guess they just look the same.

Good luck this fall!

Well, it took me a while, but I finally got to test a newly created bolt on the real deal.....

Using an Equinox and pushing a Rage 2 Blade Crossbow broadhead about 20 yards or so.... it was a 40 yard recovery.

Not the greatest sign I've ever seen........

But at the end of the trail (tracks only, no blood at all) was a big bodied, heavy horned eight pointer. Not the highest scoring deer I've shot, but the oldest and biggest for sure.

I sure do love my excalibur!

Lack of a blood trail is ok when you have snow cover for an easy tracking job.
Nice old buck and a fitting harvest for your Excalibur.
