Swhackers Scored

Post by papa bear1 »

Got up this morning at 4:00 a.m. drank 2 cups coffee, then went out to my man building to get ready to go hunting, but it was raining, So I sat there watching the news on the TV and about 7:25 I looked out and it had quit, so I got dressed in a hurry and went at a hard limping pace to get to my stand, climbed up and it was a beautifull crisp morning, and about 8:15 I saw movement to my right, saw a deer comeing across the road straight to me, :D and about 40 yds. out it started to go to my left, But to my surprise it turned my way again, stopped and fiddled around for a bit, then started slowly walking to my left, " perfect " she stopped at 23 yds. so I put the 20yd. crosshairs just a bit high, and squeezed the trigger, :) watched him mule kick run about 20yds. and fold up. :D Watched him for about 5 mins. no movement, so I climbed down from my stand and this is what i found...

That will be some tasty table snacks, :) . Them broadheads are bad to the bone for sure, :) . One of these days, when my X-Act and Boltcutter Broadheads need to be replaced, I may just experiment a little bit with some different broadheads. But because the broadheads I have are just fine and the finances cannot handle buying any, I will use what I have. As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, why fix it", :) . Thanks for the pictures and the story.

Great story & Deer.

My first trip out will be Monday & I am counting the minutes...
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Nice deer and good shooting. How many feet are you off the ground in ur stand?
Just asking because I like to go 25-30 and I dont think Id be able to pull of an angled shot like that. Unfortunately Ive only been able to test out the angle on one deer so far.

I'm in a 16ft. ladder stand, but the deer is slightly downhill. Don't know exat footage to deer. But i think it's Dead Feet.
