One Proud Evening..........

Post by Mark Rainbolt »

for me my Better Half has killed her first deer with a crossbow this evening!!!! It was cold and drizzling rain when we left the house to go hunting. We got to her blind about 4:00 pm which is set up in one of my honey hole spots. I also have a treestand there which is 25 yards from her blind, so I got a front row seat to the whole show!!! We had been in the stand's about an hour and half when a button buck walked in at 20 yards, and started milling around the food plot. I kept thinking " Honey are you going to shoot or what" then he started walking off, to a mineral lick then turned around and came back to where he was at 20 yards to the wife. Finally after 15 minutes of agonizing excrusating pain she let the Ibex Bark, that arrow was thru that deer so fast I could not see the arrow but did hear it hit the trees on the other side of the deer. He ran off about 30 yards and stopped looking around like what the heck just happened. Then he walked off about 5 yards and laid down. I watched the deer for about 15 mins. to make sure he was down for the count. Then I climbed out of the stand, and met the wife in the food plot where we did the deer is DOWN DANCE, jumpimg up and down like a bunch of little kids!!!!!!! LOL!!!! Then I told her to get her arrow and take a look down the hill about 5 yards. She turned around with this BIG OLE GRIN ACROSS HER BEAUTIFUL FACE!!!! There are things in this lifetime of mine I will never forget, like when my kids and grandkids were born. When I married my Beautiful Bride, and this day. Here are some pics off my wife and her deer, I also used my DaGriz knife to field dress her deer that I got from my Good Friend Don "BOO" Katsumi Thank you for taking the time to read.
God Bless,
Mark
