My Thanksgiving deer

Post by Doe Master »

Morning started off with deer walking behind me before legal shooting time . Decide to take a picture of one of the shooting areas .
Image
Well about 7:45 four deer came wandering towards that opening . Two were in the clearing and the other two held back . Well they were spooked by something and started back from where they came from . I shot the last doe to think about leaving . She maybe went 75-100 yards leaving at the end a very good bloodtrail .
Image
I shot her with one of the cancer tribute arrows . :)

Image
Trouble with shooting anything for us is the haul out .  But I`ll manage . :D
Image
Image
The last section we could use the cart . With all this problems with tainted meats we decided to go get our organic meat and bring it home on the redneck shopping cart . :D
Image
What I want to give thanks for is for Dad taking me and my brother out in the great outdoors as kids . I got to share the whole thing with Dad .

The turkey was already cooking . So the Mud veins will be cooked later . :)
The cart was helpful once we could get to it . They don`t float well in mud . The drag was only 3-4 hundred yards .

4-500 is my normal drag home, that small deer I got last year seemed like it was 10 times the size 1/4 of my way back.

Nice little doe Kevin. Way to go and that's something great to be thankful for! :)
