Last Manitoulin Deer Hunt

Post by Michael Stogre »

What will probably be my last deer hunt on Manitoulin Island ended early on
opening day of bow season. I shot a yearling buck at 8.30 a.m. filling my one and
only tag for this year. I say last deer hunt because I will be moving to Vancouver, British Columbia early in January of 2013. Manitoulin has been good to me in recent years. I have shot six deer with a crossbow, 3 with a 30-30 Winchester rifle, and harvested one with a high calibre Ford Explorer!.

Don't know what opportunities I will have in the West, but I know there are a few whitetails in B.C. along with mule deer, black tail and I think Sitka as well.

Over the years I have received much help from the forum especially from
Boo's advice, strings, and trigger polishing. Many Thanks to you all and Best wishes for successful hunts this fall and in future years.

Here's how you should mount the deer you take with a Ford Explorer.

Good luck with the moving!
