Scope Covers in the Rain?

Post by CDN Taxman »

Been out last night and this morning. Hang my crossbow from the hanger and the front end of the scope looks up to the sky.

What do you guys do in the rain? Scope covers or it really doesn't make a difference?

i use the flip up covers whenever possible. keeps the rain, tree dust and gack off the lens. they sell see through flip opens but i wouldnt trust the view through them.i only clean my lens once a year. well worth the extra to keep the lens clean.

I use butler creek scope covers. They are pretty cheap & do the job just fine. They keep out water & dust & other nasty things. :)

Mike, I as well have scope covers on every scoped bow and all guns and they don't look the best but do the job well. I always get the see through caps as I have had lots of times that I have shot (fast reaction) at and got game without flipping them up.

They also work great in the heavy snowing days too.

Well worth the money in my eyes...

Neoprene covers are the best !!! And cheap on top of that ! Shed water like a duck . IMHO

I just use the ones that came with my Vortex if it's crappy weather. Take em off if it's not. :)
