I have a Simmons whitetail game camera that was a 10 year service award from work it only has a 25 foot range/ 8 yards it is my first game camera so I do not have anything to compare it with but I think I would get something with more range. It works but if I was spending my own money I would get something better.

Another vote for the spypoint cameras.
Very very user friendly with the series of switches right on the back of the camera when you open the camera door.
Takes less than a minute to set up and you don't have to bother to scroll through an electronic setup menu.

IR-5 takes great day time pictures and the night time flash range is quite strong.
