New to Excalibur crossbow hunting

Post by Mike C »

Avid hunter here just never even entertained the idea of a crossbow until about 2 months ago.My neighbor purchased a Vortex and thats all it took I was hooked ! So I clicked the buy button yesterday on a Equinox shadow zone lite stuff package! If this crossbow is anywhere as sweet as the Vortex I will be pumped.I have hunted all over south Georgia and never seen a Excalibur before much less shot one until recently. Now the wait is on for the big brown bus.

I envy you on the anticipation of your new experience.
You will love it!!
I bought my first one off a display at a local retailer after a recommendation by a very close friend!
Bought my second one at the same retailer!
Bought my third one at the same place!

You will not be disappointed!!
Any questions after you start shooting it then just ask!!

I do have a few questions about arrow choice and wieghts and broadheads. Not really sure if I want to go with the mechanical heads or not. Most bow hunters I know use fixed broadheads. The only type of game I will be hunting is whitetail deer and might try an ole gobbler.I am perfectly happy useing a smaller broadhead to take game.

Mike a good fixed blade head for the Equinox is a Slick trick crossbow trick in 175 grain.
I use them and love them.

Congrats on the new bow you made the correct choice you will be able to do all the maintenance yourself in the field if need be avoiding the high cost of bow shops and the time the bow would be in the shop for new strings and servings.
