Which is better, Carbon or Alum?...or doe's it matter..w/#150 grain Bolt cutter's with a Phoenix... :shock:

They're both good and get the job done, I like alum because they're easier to work with, from changing nocks to fletchings a little heat and a sharp knife in your in the money, carbon a pita to change nocks if you use gorilla glue they don't like heat. JMHO

Thank's for the reply..Wes...I've gotten into the cross bow thing a little late this year...Here in Maryland we have a Suburban Archery season on Doe's { Harvest as many as you can}.....Sept.7th-Jan.31st...Just looking for the right combo...Thank's... :D

I also use alum. 2114-2216 & i have a few 2117 around here hidin.

With some exception aluminums are cheaper and straighter. But the reason I use carbon arrows (and not all carbon arrows are pure carbon) is that they take more abuse.
Wes is right about what he says as well. Nothing's perfect, especially Wes :mrgreen:

Well i sold all of my GTII's cept a few to shoot targets wid. Main reason they kept breakin & splinterin small bits n shards all in me deer meat :(

Both are good but:

Always flex carbon arrows after shooting. Seen a picture of someone with one through his hand so I thought I would check all mine. Had 2 splintered and 2 others were questionable out of a dozen I have been using for 2 years. Saved myself some possible grief. Will keep a closer eye on carbons from now on. Don't become a statistic when you don't have to.
