Quick Restringing Aid

Post by SALTYDOG »

I had to adjust my brace height today...but needed a restringing Aid, & no one sell's one around here...out of stock...So i just used a Rachet Strap, hooked to the end's of the limb's / over the stock and it took pressure off limb's and i adjusted the string...

Little dangerious when you let go of the ratchet strap and the string could pop off. Glad it worked for you. Would have been safer to place butt on floor and press down on both limbs and have wife or someone do the string.

You can make a quickie with some paracord and a little vinyl tubing. Takes a minute or two. You have to tie two knots.Image

I use a braided rope like what is used for lawn mower starter rope. Put a small bowline loop, (about 2" loop), in each end so that the end to end length between the loops is 35.5". Place the loops over the CB limb ends and cock this string aid with the rope cocker and then change/adjust your Excal string. Hope this helps and I have used this method on all 3 of my CBs. The bowline knot makes it easy to adjust the length between the loops.
