what a year, my best yet

Post by xbowrook »

well, this morning i finally got the pheonix put away for another off season, and it dawned on me, i just had my best year ever.. i have been hunting with a bow for about 9 years now, and i've been lucky.. actually, as dad says, i have a horseshoe implanted in a spot that, well, you know where it is..lol.. up to this year, i have been lucky enough to take 7 deer in 8 years with my bow... i have seen more deer than i can recall, enjoyed the new found sport of trail camera's and deer co'caine attractant sites and have learned something new everytime out... this year, was just a lucky year i guess, which is all the more rewarding seeing how i didn't get to hunt as much as i normally do , due to a new job i started this spring... but, with limited time out, and more afternoon hunts than i've ever participated in before, i was able to harvest 3 deer this season.. this is my personal best ( my previous best was 2, a double i shot one early frosty morning a couple years ago)... i shot a nice little 6 point buck on an afternoon hunt, a nice little 2 year old doe and with a week left in the season, i harvested a nice big mature 5 or 6 year old doe.. this is also the first time ever, that our group has gotten more than 2 deer in a season as well... man, i sure am lucky to enjoy such an amazing past time as hunting... here is to all the members here for a safe, happy and successful 2013 season...

Congrats on a great season! Always good to have deer meat in the freezer that you harvested. Turkey season right around the corner!
