Peep Sight on Mount ? - Now with Picture (further down)

Post by JT of PA »

Is it possible to mount an Excalibur Peep Sight on the New Guardian Anti-Dry Fire Scope Mount?

If so, I may need to add the cheeckpiece to my stock.

It mounts the same way as the regular scope mount . Which will block access to the top of the trigger case .

I see it as the others here do. It basically just replaces the original mount, but retains the safety mechanism preventing a dry fire.

interested in the Idea as an interesting upgrade to my Equinox.

The only question I have is how much more it raises the scope from the rail.
In turn how it affects eye / sight alignment and how it affects available scope adjustments.
etc....

I will let others try it first and wait to hear about their experiences since very little is explained about it as a conversion option for other excalibur models.

Peep Sight and new mount - Picture - ?

The peep sight I have from Excalibur does not fit on the old scope mount. You have two screws that fasten the sight directly to the trigger housing.

If you cover the trigger housing with either the old or new scope mounts you cover the two holes all ready drilled into the trigger housing.

There are two holes on the Dry Fire Mount in the forward position. Could a peep be added there.

or is hold down spring attached in this location so that the dryfire hook(s ) can have access to the string path..
Which may explain why the hold down flat spring appears to be longer on the matrix when in fact it is attached to the scope mount more forward than it is attached to the trigger housing on other excalibur models
