Congratulations with taking up hunting.

I have a family member who is a huge hunter and loves everything about it.

Cannot help with locations since I am in Pennsylvania however ...

Don't give up on knocking on doors. You never know what will happen. You just might find the one farmer that say's yes.

Don't get discouraged keep knocking on doors! Some people are always looking for new parntners as well that already have access to lands. It can be over whelming for a new hunter but keep at it.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck, I hope you are able to find a plce to hunt.
I live in Essex county and around here it's a challenge to find a spot to hunt if you don't know someone with land.

The Ganaraska Forest is huge and they offer some hunting and some of it is pretty good.

You should also call the MNR office in Peterborough and speak to enforcement. There are small public hunting areas that are available. Last you aren't far from Crown Land north of you.

You really should be out knocking on doors and asking for permission to hunt Coyotes which often leads to other permissions.
Good luck!

If your area is anything like mine be prepared to pay some cash. Everyone around here now charges to hunt on their land, sharing the meat no longer works. My buddy is selling his place in two years so I will be in the same boat as you soon. :(

Knock on doors, you'll be amazed at how many permissions you get for Coyote hunting. That permission can easily lead to other permissions.
