Has anyone made a stock extension for their crossbow?

Post by Three Bears »

Has anyone made a stock extension for their crossbow? I have an Excalibur Equniox and was wondering about making one out of a regular gun recoil pad and gluing it on or???????

I found it was inexpensive enough to buy the Excal piece and I'm pretty happy with the feel of my Xbow now.

I put a recoil pad on mine then took it off and put a walnut semi-hook butt plate. The pad made it a little long for me and the hook looks near.just a thought.

Boo is very kind. Here are a couple of pics.ImageImage
You could change the amount of extension by making the center part of the radius thicker, or change the radius itself.Just something to play with.

Looks great... I have some walnut plank in the attic...Hmmmmm? I noticed that if the stock is to be extended then the check piece will need to be moved back... one of the little fins under edge could be filed off and then maybe drill and tap a hole in stock? Anyone know what size bolt and thread the current check piece bolt is? Just some thoughts

Great Job flightattendant100
Did you machine the stock butt to get such a good fit with the walnut adapter as my stock has ridges on the butt
I would like to copy what you have done
I like what you have created :D :D :D

Joe, The butt is ridged as well as on somewhat of a radius. I flattened mine with a disc sander to start, and kinda winged it from there.I want to stipple the rear surface so that its not slick and apply a pc. of walnut veneer to cheek piece one of these days. This is how I get around to stuff usually though, I got it good enough to shoot and havent hit another lick on it.But I mean to.
