Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
Curious as to how many of the folks here chose the 355 over the 380?

Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
When i get one it will be a 355 as i have no interest in the 380. Hope all the own them enjoy them. I jus have to wait on mine this next yr
Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
When they first came out I was intending on buying the 355. However I wanted the cheekpiece and the REDS which if you add them to the price of the 355 you are almost at the 380 price. I liked the black color anyway, so it was easy choice to go with the 380. That being said I bet the 355 would make a pretty sweet bow.

Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
Right now it would be a 355 for me. Just bought a new Hoyt 2012 and new Mission Craze 2012. Never buy any bow when they first come out. Save almost a 3rd on clearance on year old bows when the new bows come out. Excalibur doesn't do that but someday in future I will find one at price I want to pay.

Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
Matrix 380 $1149.00
R.E.D.S. / Cheek Piece / Guardian Anti Dry Fire (Included)
Matrix 355 $949.00
Optional: R.E.D.S. $70.00
Cheek Piece $45.00
Guardian Anti Dryfire $80.00
Total $195.00
Matrix 355 Total with optional ADD ONs Similar to Matrix 380
$1144.00
Interesting purchasing decision for some I would expect.
I am leaning towards the 380 seems to be more bang for the buck when it comes to the Standard features included with the 380 which are must for me if I decide to take the plunge.
Need to confirm the following first however>
I would expect the strength / energy required to cock both is the same until the last 0.9 inches on the Matrix 380.
The question I needed answered is the last 0.9 inches really that much more harder to handle?
I would be surprized if it was due to the fact of the momentum being initiated during the first 12.1 inches of the cocking phase to draw the string which has already been put into motion.
If there is major difference I guess it could matter for some who do a lot of target shooting but for the majority of crossbows users ( Hunting Season Only ) repetitive cocking of the Matrix leading to fatigue should not be an issue.
I suspect the only real issue or concern a person would have before deciding on either the Matrix 355 or the 380 is.
Do they have the strength to cock either model thru the first 12.1 inches of the power stroke?

What made up my mind is that the 355 can handle dry-fire and 380 does not.

I will be going with the 355 and just the r.e.d.s when i have the rest of the money then i have to find one!

Hmmmm... Could that be why Bill T (Excal guru) did not bother to hang it on a 355G man wrote:What made up my mind is that the 355 can handle dry-fire and 380 does not.
Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
That is exactally why Bill said they did not put it on the 355. They had limb failures dryfiring the 380 so it got the R.E.D.S.TheTinker wrote:Hmmmm... Very astute of you... Which would also account for the dry-fire 'thingie', eh?robertyb wrote:That is exactally why Bill said they did not put it on the 355. Let's see if I have this all straight now: For another $200 over the cost of a 355, you get the 380; ..and gain almost an inch more draw length, 20 pounds more draw weight, 25 fps, a half-pound more weight, the dry-fire protection device (which the 355 did not need), the R.E.D.S. system (which the 355 did not need), and a cheek plate.
Such a deal
Re: Who all selected a MATRIX 355 ?
If i wanted to deal with dry-fire issues and broken limbs, i would have got something with wheels.
