That guy was one of the first reviewers of the matrix. The shooter x -sniper shot the Darton. But still very impressive. Did you notice the HHA and the elevation on the his rig. Still cool bummer wasnt a Excalibur.

Thanks. No it was in Dec I think, I was curious to see how well my Phoenix would shoot long distance, if I had grass, I would have tried 100 yds. I didn't want to lose a bolt.

I shot clout at 180 meters (590ft) in a competition with other compound shooters. I made a crossbow version of what the compounders use, just a homemade mirror set inside a piece of patio tubing mounted via the riser holes. You need it to see the clout because the riser is in the way of your view at that distance. I had no Idea how it would go. After tuning the mirror angle in I was hitting the clout directly 3 out of six freehand. Although I was the most accurate I still didn't win, because the trajectory of the bolts that just missed the clout in the center, were sent skidding on the clay up to the 300 meter mark, where as the thinner compound arrows broke the clay surface better at that flat trajectory and still gained points. Trying to post the photo but still getting an error message. At that distance the arrows need heaps of weight to not get shifted by the breeze.

Dash, Is there any way we could see a picture of this device? Sounds very interesting.

I tried posting the pic again, but keep getting the message - (Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached). The pic is a Jpeg and not oversize, so not sure whats up.
Its basically two smalloffset mounted mirrors mouted within a piece of box shape patio tubing. with one mirror being adjustable to change the angle. This lets you point the bow upwards, but at the same time your view through your scope is angled down via the mirrors so your still looking at the target. You just keep closing the adjustable mirror after each shot until you are hitting the distance your shooting at with the normal scope crosshair. I've stolen the idea off the compound clout shooters really, but needed to make my own design to be able to bolt onto an excal. Considering how crude it was it exceeded my expectations.

Dash,

Your apparatus sounds very interesting.

I'm trying to find what you accurately described on-line somewhere.

Thanks for sharing.
