Hello all;
If anyone could give me some pointers on bear hunting id appreciate it..lastyear we went to kirkland lake for a week..a group of nine..we bagged one seen 4..But this year im trying to shorten it down to a group of five hunters not boozers...i use cooking grease pails that seemed to work..but im really just looking for the best time of year to go and little tips that could help..thanks

Get Richard P. Smith's book on bear hunting (2007). Covers everything and has great tips in it. (Available on Kindle too)

the best time would be june its the rut for bears look at tbroms bear 2nd week of june 350lb. good luck

Unfortunately Ontario only has a fall bear hunt.

Go up for the august 15th opener. Bait the heck out of your stand sites too. Use the grease you mentioned but also include some sweets and meat scraps.A honey burn will bring them in too. Make your bait sites THE food source and they will be back.
