I was able to take this buck during the 2011 rifle season with my Marlin 30-30 that was my grandfather's rifle. Field dressed around 220lb & scored 153-5/8" gross & 144 -1/8" net.

Did you get an age on him from pictures looks to be 3 and a half Probably gonna have some nice lookin sons runnin around same woods Hopefully you can keep it in the family Congrats great deer

Yea the taxidermist said he is about 2 1/2- 3 years old based on the teeth. One thing I didn't know about drop tines were that they are usually caused by the buck getting sick or something from the season previous. A drop tine could be there one year and the next year it could be gone, or be smaller or bigger. This deer doesn't quite have the mass and is definitely was not at its peak but to be honest with you it was a buck coming down the lane way and I had to pull the trigger on it. I actually found the drop tines after I got it dragged back to the house which was one heck of a surprise. I am happy with getting some does to fill the freezer but this definitely took the cake last season and will be something I will remember and probably tell all my grand kids over and over when I get older in life lol

Yes, Excal1 that was from Ohio (NW Ohio to be exact) I was lucky enough to get into the Excalibur 2012 catalog last year with that buck. My 15 mins of fame I guess!
