Hi all How does the paralax set on a rifle scope ( 2x7)work on a crossbow.Is it worth sending it back to leupold for adjustment.

Jus have to keep a good cheek weld usin them is all. Of couse if'en you have the funds get it set fer what yardage you get most yer shots.

Here's what a non parallax adjusted Leupold rifle scope can do with no effort. That is less than one inch at 40 yards with broadheads.

Absolutely! Parallax refers to an angular difference and may make a difference to rifles in the order of fractions of an inch at 100 yards with high magnification scopes so if you do the math and assuming your eye is relatively centered in the scope the difference is insignificant.

You have to remember that parallax error increases substancially as the ranges you shoot at decrease. In other words if parallax is set at 100 yards your error will be a lot less at 200 yards than it will be at 20 yards. This is why good .22 target scopes almost always have a variable parallax adjustment. Ranges are typically 20-100 yards where parallax error can have significant affect. My .22 target scope can be adjusted down to 15 yards.

I use the Leupold VX-I 2-7x33mm Shotgun/Muzzleloader scope and it functions flawlessly from 10-30 yards and is crystal clear at all ranges.

Paralax also increases with magnification. A 1x scope cant have paralax, and most scope makers dont worry about an adjustable objective till you get up to around 10x. So if like most you are shooting at 2-4x with your scope you wont have much to worry about.Put your mind at ease, and go shoot, have fun.
