Last Attempt Turkey- Scored!

Post by Big John »

Well went out with my Bud Al and Ken, Unclefester to most here, to try for Al's first ever Turkey in Four years of trying. Maybe five! Having Ken behind us was a big Bonus! He took us out to his Best last Hunt field and set up. Got there at 5:00 am and done at just past 6:00 am!!!!! We doubled out on two nice Tom's at the exact same time! Al finally got the Monkey off his back! Was a cool sunny morning and the birds never made one sound! Seemed like the Tom's were going to go another way towards a couple hens way out of range. However a Jake started to make his way towards our decoys and the Tom's followed with Kens masterful calling. The poor Jake took a beating from the Tom's on the way to our decoys then the Tom's came straight for us. As soon as Al had a shot we said take left one I take right one and Bang!!! All over in a second. Double Tom's down!!!
Thanks Ken! Congrats Al!!
Mine scored almost 19 lbs. Al's scored almost 16 lbs. Beauty Birds. 9"in. beards and 7/8" in. to 13/16"in. spurs.

Those two are so competitive hunting with each other that for some time now the only way that they don't come to blows is to shoot the bird the same day, at the say time and they have to be twins otherwise all hell breaks loose.   Seriously that does'nt get any better for you both.
