New Matrix 355

Post by Gmen »

I just received my new bow yesterday and I am also new to crossbows. I have been getting used to using my stringing aid, scope, etc. I have been reading posts on this forum. There is a lot of information that I have found useful, but could I get some new information. I have the following questions: 1) I have put my R.E.D.S. on the bow and tried twisting the string, but I can't get the gap everyone suggests. How many twists might I need? 2) How do I lock the focus for my Tact-Zone scope? Thanks to everyone.

You want your string to sit just off your bumpers

Some ppl have it about a credit card width away some have it an 1/8th of an in.

Because your string is new, it is going to stretch.

Set it further away to start and shoot it a few times
it will start to stretch keep an eye on it you will have to twist it again, keep it off the bumpers

You can speed up the stretching by cocking it and leaving it, even over nite.

Some of the more knowledgeable guys will churp in soon to help you out better than I can

Hope this helps, congrats on the new bow

There are no set distance from the bumpers although they reccomend 1/8" I have mine 1/2" or more. Farther from the bumpers the longer the bumpers last. The string needs to be twisted a bunch of times until its at your desired distance from the bumpers and maintained. Once you have it set just take some nailpolish or such and put a dab on the rail so you can quickly determine if string has stretched and needs to be adjusted.
