Fletching Blazers

Post by 8ptbuk »

Im interested in buying a bolt jig and re-fletching my bolts with Blazers . Ive fletched arrows all my life but never crossbow bolts . My question is what kind of jig do I need to buy ? And also whats the best glue on the market now ? Any tips or suggestions or tips would be appreciated . Thanks

I use the Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt. It is so easy to use, that even I can even use it. Currently I am using Bohning Fletchtite glue with good success, but I know a lot of people use the Loctite Super Glue Gel. I recently bought some, but haven't used it yet.

nothing wrong with the quick set glues
but I gone back to bohning platinum

my bolt fletcher is so stiff, when I close it the fletchings
move.
the platinum gives me time to take the pessure of and move them back

I also let the platinum dry for a while before taking the jig off

Yep...Arizona Bolt here too...I use Original Crazy Glue...It has a finer tip making it easier to apply. A quick wipe on the shaft and vane with Acetone and away you go.

I bought my Arizona Bolt off of either EBay or Amazon....Didn't shop around too much though.

I'm in the process of buying one also and the best prices I found was either Bow Hunter Super Store, Wyvern Creations both at $40 or Amazon at $47 which includes shipping. I'm getting mine at Wyvern simply cause I like their service.

Give Jerry a call at South Shore Archery If he does not have the EZ bolt fletcher sure he will get it for you . I really like his adhesive sets up in about 10 seconds . buy the glue tips from him and or buy some from the hobby store . The service you get from jerry will be as good as the service yo would get from Danny Miller Jerry is that kind on supplier. Cost of product and shipping are good as well.

I'm using the Bolt as well. I've found that just about anything glues Blazers well but the best thing you can do for yourself is to give the bases of the Blazers (or any other kind of vanes) a wipe with acetone before applying the glue.
