C2 Cranking aid

Post by seabee401 »

Hi all,
Thinking of getting a C2 Cranking aid and was hoping someone who has experience with it can answer a few questions. :?:
First, can it be safely used in a treestand? Also, does it make a loud ratcheting sound as one would think? Thanks. :)

It has a paul & yes it does click but you can take it slow n easy & the sound won't carry very far. I wouldn't let it worry me none, crank it go huntin

Click Click Click, I always load the string before I get in the woods and sure you can use it in a stand but you make a lot of movement putting it on and taking it off.
There's always a way to make it quite up to the last couple clicks but due to legal issues by telling someone how to do it I will keep it to myself. I do it to both bows, acudraw and C2 but if your hand slips it will not be good. Hint hint. :o

Yes it can be used safely in a treestand !
You can quiet the noise down by placing fingers over the flipper that fits in the teeth in the wheel as you crank.
It works very well ; is very simple and ---is the safe way of doing it !

I have been using the crank for a little over three yrs.Safer than trying to stand up and pull the rope in a tree stand. Just click and hunt safer and beats the alternative. Better to click than fall. I personally don't think it bothers the animals unless you wait till they are there and start to click. Just click load and hunt. Best of luck and God Bless

If the C2 Cranking Aid is the same as old Crankeroo, there is a simple way of silently winding the device.

The pawl that engages each gear as the crank is being wound is what makes the noise. All you have to do is push the lever that disengages the pawl as you wind the crank. Just remember that if you don't control the crank until the string is locked when the bow cocks, the crank will spin at full force of the draw weight. If the crank hits your hand, it will hurt. Once you start winding, just don't let go until the bow is cocked.

Prices go from a bit expensive to crazy expensive, or at least here in Canada its like that. I know Walmart.com has them for $150, but least expensive I found was $125 at Cheaper than dirt.
