Does such a machine exist?

Post by Pydpiper »

I am looking for a GPS unit that can be pointed to mark the coordinates of a distant object, much the way a rangefinder works.
I would like to be able to point at something (like a coyote den) from a ways away and have the unit give GPS location from a distance.
Hope I explained that right.. Hard to Google when I don't know the name, or if it even exists.
Thanks!
David

Hey David,
I don't know of a rig exists for land, but it sounds like you are looking for something like a sea plotter except for land. This will be interesting to see the results.
Thanks,
Raymond

Do not have one, but know it exists as an excessary for my mapping Trimble GPS. Might be more than you want to spend though. landmarkspacialsolutions.com might have helpful info.
