New to Crossbows

Post by Fur&Feathers »

After a lot of research I just purchased an Axiom for myself and my 11 year old son to use. I do a fair amount of hunting, but never with a bow or crossbow. So this is going to be a new adventure for both of us. We sighted it in last weekend and I'm just amazed with the accuracy at 20, 30 and 40 yards.

I'm looking to keep things really simple this year. We probably won't make any modifications to the crossbow. Just buy a few more arrows and test out some different broadheads to see what works well and get a lot of practice in before deer season opens.

We've been watching a couple of really nice bucks on some public land not too far from our cottage in the thumb of MI. We're hoping my son will be able to take one when the youth hunt starts in Sept. Once he gets one, it will be dad's turn. :D

I've been looking through the forum and there's lots of great info. I'll aplogize in advance for the number of stupid questions I'm sure to have.

Kudo's to you, for getting our youth involved in the outdoors & hunting!

We were all "new" to crossbow's, at one time or another. I see that it had the same affect on you, as it did me...and I'm sure everyone else here!

As was stated before...the only stupid question, is the one not asked.
