stringer for matrix?????

Post by pwweave94 »

May be a silly question but here it goes. I have an old stringer for my Axiom do i have to buy the newer stringer to use on my Matrix or will the other one Safely work. I know the Matris has alot more poundage and just don't wanna mess anything or myself up. Thanks

I have Excalibir's original for my Equinox, but switched to Danny Miller's design.

Here is a link to a failure of Excalibur's original stringing aid.

I suggest you call Dan Miller. His arrow pulling pliers and heavy duty stringing aid price was $44,00 shipped. I let Dan pick the rope color and he did good.

Very pleasant man.

according to what i'm reading, danny miller's stringing aid is manufactured by Excalibur... same one as wyvern creations offers.

unless there is a misunderstanding of the article I have read.
(which wouldn't be the 1st time... no !!)

thanks..... 8)

I have not seen the new string aid made by Excalibur or the one made by Danny Miller? Why is Danny's stringing aid easier on the finish? How thick and what kind of material is Danny Miller using to make his stringing aid? It must be a nylon or something.
Thanks,
Raymond

I believe that the problem with the split adapter on the stringer aid was caused by the adapters trying to slide together, (when cocking), when there is no string on the limbs and the limbs are straight across. I found that if you tape the limbs, (several layers to form a stopper), on the inward side of the aid, (aid loops/adapters spread apart), so that the aid will not slip toward the center when cocking will help. You can make your stringing aid from lawn mower starter rope which you can get on Ebay with free shipping. I use a bowline loops at each end about a 2" to 3" loop with approximately 35" loop to loop, (this is for the Equinox/Vortex/Axiom style CBs. You do NOT need to tape the limbs when changing/adjusting an installed string as the limbs already have some bend to them. You also don't have to worry about damage to the limbs using the rope stringer.

I need to get me another stringing aid because I don't like to keep changing the length of the stringer to fit both matrix and regular limbs, Right now I slip something in the rope so I can pull it out so I can change because to knot can get so tight its hard to untie.

The stringing aid that is broke is that an Excalibur stringing aid or is that a knock-off brand? Okay, so let me see if I understand this correctly. Danny Miller made the square white stringing aid, and Miller and Wyvern are the only two dealers that have that square white stringing aid for sale? And Excalibur has made a heavy duty stringing aid with pieces of metal inside the plastic pieces to make it into the Excalibur Crossbow Heavy Duty Stringer? Thanks in advance for your comments, they much appreciated.
Thanks,
