Allan Broad heads on a 2116

Post by cdnarmyguy »

I was thinking of buying some cheap solid Allan broadheads from Walmart. Read they were not bad. Just for targets and can get 9 for the price of 3. And no worries about damage to them. They only sell 125grs. I dont have my scale, anyone think they be a lil light. I have an equinox.
What's 64 tons, green and black, and can take a deer at 3400m. A leopard tank.

Don't waste your time or money. I tried them many many years ago.

Due to their wide blades they fly just as erratically as woodcocks.

My nephew shot a deer with them ...they break and fly apart ...the only way the deer went down was his first shot was a spine shot ...I found blade pieces everywhere in the meat ...he had to shoot it again and it was not good. poor deer :(

They make new ones that are short and low profile. The blades seem sturdy on these with a chisel point. For the record I have bought inexpensive broad heads for years and never had a problem with any of them and have killed every deer I have shot with them except for loosing one deer and that was because the deer moved and I hit it too far back it was not the broad heads fault.

With all due respect to your Wolverine faster bows get fussy with broadheads where slower bows do not get as fussy.

I was just looking for a cheap set of target heads. Ive used cheap ones for my vert and no problems. For 10$ im not worried about if they done work. Just if only being 125gr is to light. Im not hunting with them. I just dont want to spend 40$ for target heads.
Also if for a million years they have hunted with a chipped stone, a 10$ steel tip is one up.

Im not ignoring it. Just because you cannot hunt with them , does say they are not good target heads. Ive used some no name broad heads in Europe and the middle east. Such as Star sold in Europe, some unkn brand I bought in Cyprus both were about a dollar a piece. All of you have to remember outside NA they sell NOT MADE IN US/CDN stuff.
I just like to know, if I'll have to add any thing, due to they are only 125grs?
