Finally shot 355 with Broadheads

Post by 6x6 elk »

Shot my 355 this afternoon using Diablo Bolts and Excalibur Boltcutters. Just as advertised they flew to the same point of impact as my 150gr. field tips.At 40 yards the Boltcutters were 1inch lower than the fieldtips.I Had some Monteac G-5 125gr broadheads that I Also tried and they also hit the same place as the Boltcutters.Accuracy wise these 2 Broadheads are interchangable in my Crossbow.Anyone have a preferance between these 2 Broadheads for Deer Hunting,it is it a coin toss?

Thanks for the reply. I was surprised that the G5 and the Boltcutters shot in the same place, since there is a 25 grain Weight differance and the G5 having a slightly larger cutting diameter.

I shot through a bison rib with a Montec CS and it came out pristine. I think the POI "differences" are related to ballistics coefficient, bow efficiency, and drag. That's why you have to shoot any BH you hunt with IMO. Just curious.....what's you POI difference at 40 between 125 and 150 gr FPs?
