Swacker Broadheads

I shoot the 125 grains and they shoot great out of my bows.

Shot this deer last year at 15yds with 100gr swhacker.
Deer went about 60yds and crashed.

X3 on the 125's. Short recoveries and easy to change out the blades on them. Shwackers is all I will be using this year.

Tried 2 last year. They worked fine but the blades were trashed after the shot. If you get them and try them - you practice with them by adding electrical tape around the front of the BH to keep the blades from opening. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THIS BEFORE EVERY SHOT. Had a blade open on me because I didn't. Thankfully nothing really bad happened. It hit the stirrup and sent the arrow 4ft off the target.

I'm not a huge fan of mechanicals and after a problem with one several years ago I switched back to fixed blade heads. Found a couple fixed blade heads I can just screw in, spin test, and count on them to group right with field points. My favorite is a Wac'Em Exit, a 4 blade replacable blade head. Every deer I've shot with one (haven't kept count, but I'm guessing 6-8 deer) has gone down very quickly.
Last year I kept reading all the favorable feedback on the Swhackers. I bought a pack of 100gr 2"cut heads to try. No problem with accuracy, so I decided to shoot a doe and check performance. She went about 40 yards (about the same average recovery as I've had with the Wac'Ems). The cut was good, but didn't really look to me like it was any better than I had been getting with the 4 blade Wac'Em.

I guess to quickly summarize it I would say if you are going to use a mechanical the Swhacker is as good as anything out there, but I still have a more secure feeling when I shoot a fixed blade. I just ordered a pack of new Wac'Em Exits this morning to hunt with this year. I'll keep the remaining Swhackers for a backup, but I just prefer the reliability of a fixed blade.

I took a look at them at lancaster archery an just thought in my mind I would never put anything that looked like that on the end of one of my arrows. I have enough to do an not think about broadhead problems when hunting so just give me a good old fixed blade . don,t think there,s such a thing as the magic broadhead.

They said they knew they were out sourced & made in China & no refund was offered. Told me to complain to Paul Templeton via email. They may change where they are bein made

Personally I do not care where they are made. I shot one deer so far with mine and I was amazed. In almost 50 years of archery hunting it was the fastest kill I have seen. Double lung shot and deer went less than 20 yards and there could not have been much blood left in the body.

I have been shooting mechanicals since they first hit the market years ago and I really thought Swackers would be a joke. I have them in my quiver on my Vortex again right now.

I like them.
