I sure hope my son gets a break from the Army, and gets to come down and hunt with me some.

I am sure you two will have a blast bro. :) And may your hunt be bountiful. :)

Dan, this is going to be a season to be remembered. I wish you all the best of luck and a successful season. What an honor it is for you to be able to take your nephew hunting who is giving so much of himself and thank you for doing that. Enjoy yourselves.
Thanks,
Raymond

XcaliburFX, I don't know your name, but I hope and pray that the army does give your boy some time to come and hunt with you also. Thanks to you and your wife for raising such a fine young man. May you give him a hand shake for me when you do get to see him the next time he is home. Tell him I do not know him, but that I am honored to know he is doing his duty and taking care of us all. My dad was Army, he is since passed on.
Thanks,
Raymond

Thanks Dan and Raymond,

My dad was also in the Army and has since passed. My son who is a SGT, has only been home from his 3rd 1 year deployment in Afghanistan for several months and is up for Staff SGT soon. We are very proud of him.

His first two tours were as a Blackhawk Mechanic, his third as a computer tech. He was to be in Recruiter class now, but when he got down to SC, they told him they needed him back working on the Blackhawks for now. Kind of gives me a queasy feeling of what we might be in for soon.

I am also proud to announce that along with his coming home several months back, we got the news about a month later that my second Grandchild is on the way. And just found out that it will be Grandson number two. :)

Yes, ... Freedom is not Free and it is Paid For at a Very High Price, but It Is Worth Fighting For! God Bless all of our brave men and women fighting for our freedom, as well as for those we have lost during these uneasy times.

p.s. Sorry to have hi-jacked your thread Dan.

Dan good luck with your nephew and have fun. My son came in from leave for a couple of weeks and I was able to hunt with him and my 6 year old grandson one morning. This was my grandson's first hunt, I let them use my Matrix and I used my vertical bow and it was a great hunt to remember. They saw 5 deer sitting in the stand but no shot opportunities my grandson will never forget this because he was so excited.

Have lots of fun with your nephew and tell him we really appreciate him for what he does.
