Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?
Haven't heard about anyone trying to cut the rail on a matrix, say down to 330 or 305. I've been really curious to see what a Vixen-Matrix might be like to hunt with...gets a man to thinking.

I have done a bunch of playing around with a cut down 355. One inch shorter rail. She was shooting alittle over 320 fps with stock string.
321fps - 356grn
314fps - 382grn
306fps - 405grn
299fps - 430grn.
she was one sweet bow. easy to cock all day. easy shooting and shooting darts like all Excalibur bows.
That will be my next bow.

Re: Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?
That's the kind of info I was looking to find. Numbers all in the ball park I thought would be achievable with that length of rail.
This is what I'd like to see someday: a matrix platform vixen that could shoot a 16" arrow at 325gr, while getting 300fps or better . If they don't make this bow by next fall, I might just have to have a 355 to cut it down!

Re: Anybody cut the rail on a matrix yet?
No way I'm cutting down my 380...doesn't bother me at all to draw it. What I'm thinking about buying a 355 to cut it down for the pure sake of hunt-ability. An 11-11.5" power stroke and overall length of about 33" would be a wicked thing to carry afield.bob watkins wrote:buy a c2 crank then you wont have to cut your bow down. yhat way you can keep the power

I agree. it was to me a perfect hunting bow. Speed is not my concern at all and that thing still threw arras plenty fast. Wish I could have used it to take a deer this year but the bows owner felt he should use it lmao!racking up points wrote:No way I'm cutting down my 380...doesn't bother me at all to draw it.
