Great Hunt

Post by vixenmaster »

I got to my stand jus as it were getting light enuff to see what you would be able to shoot. Nice n cool bug free, plenty of tree rats n birds around. I had been on stand an hr i reckon & along comes Mr. Bob. He twas a fine lookin cat nice fur nice shape n colorin.I had my xhairs on him the whole time he was there. Yup he still walks the woods, he is the 1st one i have seen here on me place in the 5 yrs i have lived here. I don't kill them jus because i can, sides season ain't open. Wouldn't matter if'en it were i would let him walk. That made my day!

Very cool. I've only seen just a handful of them over the last 17 years of deer hunting.

Sounds like a very fine hunt you had. I bet that was a sight to behold for sure.
I use to call in yoters and fox with a Kmeer Deer call. Had a blast doing it.
Glad you got to see such a very pretty woods kitty. :D

I don't normally shoot bobcats either. Kind of cool to see and I feel like they help cut down on the corn bill by eating turkey hens. Saw 8 in a pack once. :)

Sometimes the best things in the woods are not exactly what brought us there..
Very cool sighting.

I will not shoot a Bobcat on my land either. Had plenty of chances and always let them walk.
Now this morning I had a big Coyote come by and could not get him to slow down. Wanted to shoot him bad.

Here in Louisiana there are plenty of them in the woods but you hardly ever see one. Last year I seen a swamp rabbit come by my climber. He was not running but moving faster than a rabbit normally moves. About 5 minutes later a bobcat came along on its trail.

Some of my best hunts were the ones that I just watched and didn't kill anything ...my worst was when I got eat up with seed ticks.

We have a few here in Ohio, but they are protected. I've seen a grand total of one in my 50+ years of roaming the woods.

Very cool indeed. I'd love to see one of them kittys roaming through the woods sometime. :)
