Excalibur field points and Broadhead?

Post by bobcattrapper »

Ok for those of you who use the Excalibur brand 150gr field tips,150gr Excalibur brand broadheads and the Excalibur bolts...........do the broadheads shoot the same point of impact as your field tips??I just don't want to use my broadheads in a target I have for crossbow rated only with field tips. Thanks! Oh I don't care about how your 100gr muzzys shoot with your uncle josh arrows even though they are the same weight but are squirrely lol

You really need to shoot the BH'S into a 18-1 target to find out.

Cheaper to shoot a couple in a old stump.

For what it's worth, I took my 355 out at lunch today and tested.

It's all stock - shooting the Diablo bolts with 150 gr field points and the 150 gr Bolt Cutters.

From sitting, using a steady-eddy rest the BH and FPs all grouped the same through 40 yds. At 60 the BHs "seemed" to come in a little low, but I only shot a few groups at that range so I can't rule the shooter out as I have a tendency to hold the chevron reticule low. I didn't see any lateral shifts at any range.

I know there are better combinations - but this is what I'm taking to the field this year and I'm pretty confident it will do as good a job as I can make it.
