Broadheads for Matrix 380

Post by turbo »

Hey folks I have a problem with my broadheads.I am shooting the 380 with 125gr field points and 125gr Thunderheads. The field points shoot 1" groups at 20yds all day long. The broadheads shoot 3" groups. So my question is what do the majority shooting fixed broadhead use with their Matrix380 Thanks for your help :?

I am using the stock arrows which came with the crossbow-Diablo.When I shoot the broadhead I am using the same arrow-I go get it after each shot. This way there is not a difference in arrows. :?

Turbo, I shot my buck with Easton XX75 Magnums
20" with 100gr Rocket hammerheads 2" cut 3 blade.
I also bought the Black Eagle Executioner's from
www.wyverncreations.com which fly great out of my 355.I played around with different heads and decided i wanted mech heads due to perfect flight.I would advise you to try the slick tricks and maybe different arrows if the Diablo's aren't flying good.
One fixed blade that flew great @ 20,30yds for me was an old Rocky Mt 3 blade 100gr head with the 18" diablo. You have to try different combo's and see what your 380 likes! Good Luck!

18' BEEs with G5 Montecs or Magnus Snuffers in 100gr fly like darts, identical to my field points, out to 50 yds, with my M380.

I'm sticking with the 150 boltcutters right now and they're grouping amazing at 60 yards but hopefully won't have to shoot that far this season. I may try some rage next season but right now these shoot great and I just need to get some deer close to the stands. Loads of food around for em with acorns and apples but the weather is finally starting to cool off here in NW NC.

I am running Big John's version of the .001 Black Eagle Executioners. Had John specifically set these up with brass fronts and balanced for 125 grain heads. Overall arrow weight is 395 grains when dressed.

I haven't tinkered with other broadheads after discovering the 125 grain mechanical Spitfires fly true from the Matrix 380 out past 60 yards. Having received many good reports on that particular broadhead, decided they will be my Go-To for this hunting season.

Let you know just how they perform on game... hopefully soon...

Cheers,
Nog

I tried the spit Fire 125 gr much xb bh and the blades would open in flight. Went back and bought the xcal 150 bolt cutter. Will shoot on Friday his and post results. How do you turn the insert on a carbon arrow to line the bh insert?

Just tried G5 strikers 125gr.They shoot great-as good as field points. They are a short broadhead compared to what I have been shooting. They are leaving my Matrix at 360fps and dead on.
Thanks for all the advise
