I have an excel string on my Ibex with the S5 kit. when I put on the S5 kit there was gap between the string and the S5 bumpers. the string and the bumper on the S5 now touch. Is the excel made to twist so I can get a gap between the string and the bumper. I think it should but can find anything that says it can be twisted.
I know I should go with a Flemish string but I want to get use to the bow before I start upgrading.

Re: excel string
Need to keep at least 1 string width gap between the S5s and your string. Rotate the S5s every so often, so you don't wear in just one spot. Avoid the splice on the S5 so the string doesn't hit right on them. Best to get used to the bow before going to a Flemish string.
Re: excel string
And yes. You can twist the Excalibur string, just make sure to twist the right direction or otherwise you'll unravel it.
Re: excel string
thanks I thought you could but wanted to make sure. and the other advice. never thought about the splice on the bumper.
Re: excel string
Turn the string counter clockwise or else your serving could loosen up.

Re: excel string
Actually, turn it in the same direction as the serving is applied.

Re: excel string
I think I have about 21 twists in my excel string to get the necessary brace height on my Exocet w/r/t the S5 pads.
works perfectly.
