Can someone please square me away on bolts.

Post by learn2flyfish »

Okay,

I've found two Ibex bows, one aluminum barreled and the the other is a new SMF.

The information says use 350 weight arrows. I'm unclear if that is a total weight with broadhead/field point or just the shaft weight. Any clarification would help.

Thanks,

Paul

The total minimum arrow weight is 350 grains, so stay above 350 gr. and your good.

Thats with points. If you go below that, you risk damage to your bow. If you go over that you slow down a bit. Slower is not a bad thing . The heavier arrows have a bit more penetration, and the noise from your bow will be down a bit.You just dont want to get too slow . Its a compromise. Most of the arrows I shoot are between 375 gr.and 430gr. They all work well. Have fun playing with it and find your "perfect" combo.

I bought some Easton xx75 magnums 20" 2219. it says on the web sight arrow is 13.8 grains with 100 grain field tip the total arrow was 470 grains. I thought that would be a very heavy arrow. but I like Easton so I gave it a try. these things flew straight flat and very accurate and had very good penetration. I was impressed.
