Hunting Day Energy Snacks ?

Post by colouredchameleon »

Now that the 2013 season has started in most areas.
Long sits , long cool days are also upon us.
I am sure some pack a lunch to maintain their energy level.

I tend to find a lunch can cumbersome and a bit hard to eat quietly so I like to pack light while getting maximum boost to keep warm, and a much needed energy boost from time to time.

I use and find I get maximum effect from the mini Mars bars sold this time of year for trick or treat.
Single bite with next to very little movement required to indulge.

Curious what others do?

I make a batch of hudson bay bars for my November hunts. Gives you energy all day & they are all natural.

When hunting with friends we usually meet up late morning and go to the local diner for a late breakfast which usually consists of a big cheeseburger and fries. I find this gives me a much needed energy rush so that I can go to sleep watching college football before getting ready to go back in the evening. :)

High carbs before you start off or the night before (like pasta) and high protein foods will keep you going throughout the day. I take hard boiled eggs, beef jerky, and trail mix nuts and dried fruit. Greens will help slow the digestion of foods too. It is very important to stay hydrated too.
