Got More Tree Time Than a Squirrel

Post by UPSMAN »

My week of bow hunting is over. Spent 10 + hours every day in a tree. Another year of failure in the deer woods. I passed on one small basket rack 8 pt and numerous does and small bucks. The 10 pt that I was targeting was a no-show all week. He did stop by for a couple of photos just to let me know that he was laughing at my stupid-a$$ sitting up in that tree all day.He was working the midnight shift while I was working days.I did however take the opportunity to christen the Equinox on its first 4 legged critter. I shot a nice 100 lb hog. Having shot my bow hundreds of times at targets, I guess I never really realized how fast that bolt meets its target. I was very much impressed with the Equinox. The Muzzy really makes a nice hole. Hog went 50 yds and was done. As for my friend, the 10 pt, his day is coming. The rut is only 6 weeks away and I will be waiting. As a couple of you mentioned in my previous post, I have not been posting much over the summer. I've been pulling a lot of 13 hour days at work and my weekends have been consumed with totally refurbishing an old neglected Bass Tracker into a Camo Duck Boat. I will post a series of pictures when I get it done. It's back to work on Tuesday for 3 days then I'm off again for 10 days of rest in the N.C. Mountains. Going to spend some quality time with my wife at the top of Wolf Mountain in Bakersville N.C. with no Wifi or phone. I will try to post a picture of my first critter kill.

Sounds like a good hunt. Work for 3 days is ok as it puts food on the table. Now this part of being locked up top on a mountain for ten days with wife, no phone or wifi. What's to talk about with wife for ten whole long days! Sounds like that TV show "Locked Up Abroad." j/k

congrats on the hog. Wish we had hogs here but no such thing unless you go to a hog farm and pay to shoot one. That is one nice buck in the photo. It will be around for the next time you go out. Good to get away from the hussle and bussle of every day work and get out for some quiet time with the wife and have some fun!!

Congrats on the hog and good luck on the buck when you get another chance at him. If you're going to Bakersville N.C. you won't be a couple of hours away from me. The N.C mountains are very pretty and relaxing especially when the leaves turn next month. Hope you two have some much rest and relaxation.

Hester, I'm going to be venturing out all over the area. Let me know where you're at and I just might drop by for a meet & greet. Always enjoy meeting new folks.
