Deer Calls

Post by Farmer »

Looking for a new commercial deer / grunt call . Have been using an AWAY bow grunter plus for a long time -- hands free is one of the best features of this call . What are you using , why do you like it ?

We just got our first Wabi call too, it by no means compares to any other call I have tried.
The tone is rich and true, the craftsmanship is awesome, and it isn't priced like it's gold plated.
I will own more in the near future.

I use a HS grunt tube.I've had better luck with the rattle bag for bringing in bucks and doe.

I have a couple of the AWAY deer call and a couple of Wabi deer calls. Both of them work well but I found the sound quality is far better from one of Wabi's calls. The nice part about the AWAY call is it can be used while inhaling so it will not freeze up. I just never got as much attention from any call that I get with a call that Wabi made.

I been hemin and hawin about getting a nice Wabi call, I've heard nothing but good things about his calls, just no coin this year, but am going to save my pennies for next season, I appreciate the beauty of a nice hand made call, I have a couple yote calls made of cocobola from Kerry carver, so once you get a nice homemade call its hard to buy a plastic one.

The Wabi calls talk pure deer language!
Haven't found a call that rivals mine yet.
Might just have to order another.....

Love the HS TrueTalker - will do it all easily and can be worn hands-free. Can change tone/call from fawn to doe to buck to superbuck without taking it apart.

Having said that, I love my Wabi call even more. It has a beautiful rich sound. I used it along with a small bleat can on my buck last year.

Does this Wabi have a website? Did some searching but didn't find anything.

Thanks for all the kind words folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those not familiar with my calls, I do not have a web site as this is only a hobby for me, not a commercial operation.
I have been making/selling deer calls for several years now, but have never pushed for high production quantities because I'd rather be stuck with a low production rate and high quality.

When I have free time I make up a few calls and often offer them for sale on the trading post here on the forum.

Right now I have one call left from my last efforts at turning out a few calls, and I'm not sure when I'll get more made. I'm low on material and have been putting off ordering until the weather turns a bit colder and I'll have more time to work on making calls.

I just sold the last one I had made, so it may be a week or two before I have any more. When I get them made I'll post it in the trading post.
