faulty cocking aid

why does my cocking aid leave scratches in the side of my rail on equinox crossbow? it is being used properly, even posted a video on youtube showing how it is being used, but no answer to why it happened. Consequently my friend has the same crossbow and he looked at my cocking aid and said it is faulty, the brass rollers protrude past the plastic, thus gouging my crossbow, I guess warranty is only as good as the paper its written on?

Find it very odd there would be a off size set of rollers kickin around. Just sayin!

Why don't you post a picture of your hooks/rollers so that we can see exactly what the problem is? Who have you contacted about this problem?

I'm having a hard time understanding what steps you have taken to try to get warranty. You have said that you made a YouTube video. Did you send them the video? And when? If you have contacted them did you give them a chance to reply? It is busy there.

If it were me: id fix it myself or I'd pick up another rope cocker in the meantime.

I can not understand how the rollers can contact the rail on your Equinox. I have the same crossbow and my rope comes down the side of the rail and through the rollers and out to the handles on each side with the hooks over the top of the string. When I cock the CB the rollers on each side are 1/4" away from the rail again on each side. There is NO WAY that the rollers can come in contact with the rail. What is the exact method that you are using to cock your CB and where do you see the contact???

I don't believe it would be a wheel or a hook. I have a Barnett rope cocker and the pin holding the brass wheel comes out and I have to pound it back in with the handle on a hard surface after about every ten or fifteen shots. Look for that perhaps.

As others have stated, it would be great to see a picture of your rope cocker so we could help further. I was thinking about this thread when I cocked and uncocked my bow this afternoon and I noticed that it's actually the thickness of my rope that's keeping the brass rollers off my rail. In my case there's about 1/8" clearance but the rollers definitely don't contact the rail.

what happens if you reverse cocking rope and your hooks go on the other way. I have always turned my hooks upwards
