The deer are really rutted up right now and this guy smelled like he had taken a shower in his own urine. Had such a strong odor to him, I took the hose to him when I got home before hanging him up. I'm glad human courtship doesn't involve pissing down our legs to mark our territory.
I always make it a point to check out the damage I did to the organs when I field dress a deer in an attempt to become a better hunter and make cleaner kills. I hit this deer farther back than I like but still caught the back end of both lungs. Was quartering away slightly so I caught a bit of the liver on the near side as well. Amazing how much damage the slick tricks do to lung tissue and the blood begins to poor. Awesome blood trail and quick kill.
