Guys...I'm new to crossbows and just purchased a Matrix 380. I just picked up a package of Nockturnals that I installed in the Diablo bolts yesterday. I have not shot them yet. I happened to come across a thread advising people of dry fires related to the Nockturnals. The thread was from Oct 2012. I was curious if the Nockturnals have been designed differently since that time to alleviate the previous issues. I'm alittle hesitant to shoot them and was hoping to get some advice from anyone that may use them or have used them as of recent.

Diablo Lighted Nocks
Re: Diablo Lighted Nocks
I've been using them, and have had no problems. Be sure and use the ones that are flat. NOT the half moons. I killed 2 deer 2 weeks ago with them. They are a great aid.
Re: Diablo Lighted Nocks
timbow....I appreciate the response. I have used them in my compound for the last three years and feel they are the most reliable in my opinion. They light every time. I just had some concerns after seeing the thread from last Oct. Did you make any modification to the end of the nock? I had seen some mention of sanding the end to rough up the plastic so that the string didn't slide under the rear of the nock.

Re: Diablo Lighted Nocks
I do not know if they have been changed , but my experience with them was NOT positive . Would not touch them with a ten foot pole . Lumi Nocks or Firenocks for me .

Farmer....I appreciate the response. Did you have a problem related to a dry fire? My next choice would be the Firenocks!

Re: Diablo Lighted Nocks
I have done nothing to them. When I installed them, I made double-sure I got them fully seated against the shaft. Then I thoroughly cleaned the hot melt glue that squeezed out. The Nocturnals hit the same as my bolts without them. The nocks are smooth and square.
