2 bucks down

Post by coors »

I live in southwestern Ontario and the muzzel loader hunt is on this week . I am hunting with my two friends and tonight I was lucky in shooting two bucks within 5 minutes apart in the same field. They were only small 4 point bucks but we have not been seeing many deer this year as there seems to be a lot of hunters out.The first buck only went about 50 yards but there no blood until we found him in the corn field. The second buck went about 400 yards in the field and I thought i missed him .This buck was hit in the lungs and I was shocked he went that far, there was also no blood until we found him in the field. The best part of the night was that my 13 year old son was with me and he saw the deer. We had a hard time finding them as we looked for them in the dark, the coyotes wont get these ones. I sure do like deer hunting with my friends year after year.

+3 on changing bullets, I shot 2 with my muzzleloader this year. The first went 40 yds but left a blood trail that oneshotscott could follow and the 2nd dropped on the spot. 240gn xtp's in front of 100gn of blackhorn 209

Congrats on the antlered double. I took two with my muzzleloader with the shots not sixty seconds apart a couple weeks ago. You can reload pretty quickly when the pressure is on. Mine were both doe though. I really enjoy the black powder seasons.
