goodbye Exomax 225, hello Matrix 380!

Post by paulaboutform »

I just traded up to the new Matrix 380 and I can't believe how much these xbows have improved. The entire feel, balance, light crisp trigger...amazing!!! Also, MUCH quieter and dead on the shot. I love the new compact size. This really is incomparable to the earlier models. Good job to the folks at Xcal on their newest flagship xbow. I love it!!!

?? Huh??? What???(where's the head-scratching icon)

I shoot an old Exomag 200 and see no reason to change up to those new fangled ones. Deer's dead either way.
Don't look at the antlers!! And don't look him in the eye!!

2002 Exomag
Custom wood stock with a lot of notches in it
Big John arrows
Loving every minute of it.

Look at it this way, a 2000 Ford F250 XL will get you to the same place as a 2013 F350 XLT LARIAT Diesel. Only difference is one is a MUCH more comfortable ride and has a lot more horse power!...but I'm glad you like your xbow, it's still a great bow. If you get the chance to try out a new Matrix I'd strongly recommend it.

I think the size of the new Matrix line up, is by far its best attribute, and using an F350 diesel for pulling a utility trailer could be the same analogy!

Congrats on your Matrix, I enjoyed the refinements from previous models too.

Thank you. Just to clarify, I'm not calling or assuming anyone is stupid. I was simply pointing out that even though a new xbow may not have been 'needed', acquiring new things is not necessarily about need. I was very happy with my old xbow and even though it was a real performer, the new one truly is that much better. I'm not trying to get into a p_ _ _ing match with anyone I just don't get the negativity. I thought this would be a place like minded people with similar interests could get together.

Congrats on the new addition!

I hear ya about the Matrix - I love my Vixen and have no desire to upgrade.... but....but... but... if I had excess cash I might be tempted. :D

The Matrix is beautifully balanced and sweet to shoot. I also think that the Matrix platform can fit some women better: the shorter length of pull and the more natural balance make it "friendlier".

I'm hoping that they'll bring out a lower poundage bow in the Matrix line - I'd love to see more of the ladies getting out into the woods with a xbow!

Having said all of that - I personally will continue to compete and hunt with my Vixen. There's something about the plain ol' Vixen that I love.

I will probably trade my 2010 Ibex, which I thought I would never sell, for a new Matrix 355 next year. The extra speed and narrower width are 2 features that interest me the most. Too late in the year to do it now, but wish I would've done it in August, I also want to see what new products Excal introduces in 2014.
